Chucky Mama
One of my girls has an intermittently sore foot. No apparent injuries and the last time it improved after I put a light padded bandage on for a week. I put it on because I got the impression she had 'concussed' her foot on the cube ladder. It is a little sore again today and I am again wondering if she is suffering getting in and out of the cube up the awkward ladder. It is hardly comfortable for them. Has anyone adapted theirs at all or does anyone have any ideas how it could be made perhaps more padded in some way but also remain hygienic? Redwing
Could it be bumblefoot? Re the ladder, Wickes do cheap rubber car mats for 79p that you could cover the bars with. The covering sold to lag pipes could work but would need a non slip covering. The other alternative is to swap it for a wooden runged ladder or ramp or lay one over it Could it be the jump from the bottom rung thats causing the problem? maybe a breezeblock or log under the last rung could alleviate things
Chucky Mama
I did wonder about bumblefoot but there are no signs, no swelling or anything. I have watched her exit the cube and it seems to be the first rung or 2 on the way down that she finds hard. I will have a mooch around Wicks perhaps and see what I can rig up for her.
