an occupied Eglu!

Recommended Posts

Hi all, we finally have three lovely inhabitants for our eglu, as we collected our ex-batt girls today. Arn't they gorgeous :D . They must have had sensory overload today, travelling from the farm to the rescue centre then to our home, and finally all the sensations around them in the fresh air - wow what a day they've had. However, that did not mean they were ready for bed at dusk - oh no! we tried the torch idea - no luck, so in the end, as it was becoming darker and darker, we had to pick each one up individually from the front of the eglu and carry each round and pop them through the egg port. thank goodness we only have three. So, can anyone tell us how long it is before they take themselves to bed? Or any ideas for us to play with them tomorrow night?

Welcome to the merry band of ex batt/battie mums

One question....... where are the photos, we do love a good photo to ooo & aaaah over & we can then share the changes that come over them too :D

Good luck with your lovely girls, if they haven't already they will soon have you entranced.

Re bedtime, they will probably go in fine on their own tomorrow as has been said, as they will come out of the eglu by the correct route in the morning...mine learned very quickly, but they did arrive as the snow did, so they realised quite quickly it was warmer in the eglu than the run, especially after the sun set. They are now invariably the first of my band of feathered monsters to go to bed......sometimes a good half hour before the others.
