Rincewind
Our little Araucana refuses to use the nesting box to lay her eggs. She much prefers getting under a hedge and will fly out of her run to do so. Any suggestions? She has 2 wyandotte sisters who haven't started laying yet. Staffordmum
Annoying creatures! Some times they decide anywhere is better than the nest box you provide. Without a nest box an old cardboard box will do or the corner of the house or under the hedge. Try a golf ball or a wooden egg in the nest/box - see if that encourages her. Regrettably, it's what they feel comfortable with, not what you want. Am sure someone will be along soon who can give more helpful advice Kind rgds, Pat & Steve
Patricia W
We've had this for the past year. But I've found the solution! We bought a cube. I think they just didn't like laying in the eglu for some strange reason. But once I put a rubber egg in the cube nest box - BINGO! Try putting rubber eggs where you want them to lay, that might help
