4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hello...................being a complete newby to this I have a question that I hope someone will be able to answer for me.

I have three Pekin Bantum hens one of which is called Fleur and she has this habit of squatting herself onto the ground and 'rubbing in a rocking kind of motion'. She does it for a few seconds at a time but often throughout the day. Very strange.

I would really like to know why she does this.

Can anyone help me please?

Is it when you approach her? Could it be like hens do once they are coming in to lay? If you approach a laying hen it often flattens itself to the ground (mistaking you for a cockerel) and waits to be mounted!

Fleur has been broody for a few weeks but when she's laying she exhibits the behaviour you describe. She sorts of rubs her derrier on the ground in a side to side motion. I have checked for worms and mites and am sure she's heathy and well. Very bizzare!!

I agree, she could be mistaking you for a cockerel

Or maybe she is rubbing her body on the floor to have a 'mini mudbath' perhaps??
