Guest
We are thinking of getting some ducks and although we have a 15 x 11 ft pond it has sturgeon in it, will this cause a problem, either for the fish or the ducks. thanks ps we hav been offered 2 indian runners and 4 kharki cambells I dont know where you live but fish and ducks probably not a good idea, particularly if you value your fish. We have a large pond/lake with running water reeds etc but our ducks polluted the pond and the fish did disappear(we at the time had 7 ducks all together and tons of mallards) but the fish we put in did die. Ducks do eat frogs etc so am sure they would love a small fish to eat. I was thinking about restocking fish into the pond as we dont keep domestic ducks now. The mallards just tend to briefly visit,so less risk pollution etc Sturgeon ??big fish I know nothing about) I am sure some big fish ie pike defiintely would take a duckling etc but I dont know anything about big fish?? or Sturgeon. Your pond sounds an ideal size but it will need cleaning defiintely with ducks , you could keep them away from your pond but provide a smaller water area? indie
Lesley
I have to agree with Indie I'm afraid. Ducks are just so messy and your fish would suffer.
