zmurffi
At last I have my 3 chickens. Sister Mary Clarence, Sister Euphemia & Sister Wendy (known as Tikka, Korma and Kebab). I collected them yesterday evening and they went straight into the Eglu for bed. Very quiet night. At 7.15 this morning I opened the door to the Eglubut they stayed put. I gave them food and water and still they stayed inside. Evevtually after about an hour they slowly emerged but keep going back inside at the slightest noise or movement in the garden. They are not the prettiest of hens a Light sussex cross who just looks light a dirty white one, A speckled one (think its a Cuckoo Maran) and the best of the bunch French Copper Maran who has black feathers that shine almost dark iridesent green in the sunlight. But we all love them just as they are. Not sure who is in charge yet, they have all come from the same place and are used to being together. They are 18-20 weeks apparently. Hope they start to lay soon. I am so excited - I can't stop watching them, have put a chair near the run - hope I am not upsetting them. Will try and sort some photos when I can work out how to so it. Going to have a coffe and sit down and watch again. He he.
