Hi all, my son tells me chickens have no sense of smell, is this true?

 

Just wondered it would make sense considering all the stuff that goes into their feed, garlic, limestone flour, poultry spice etc, but not sure if he is just havering or if true.

Yes they can smell.

Also chooks have a sense combining taste and smell ( particularly to avoid harmful things) with their beaks which is why it is sooooooooooooooooo cruel to debeak
