Worried about paper dust.

Recommended Posts

I use cross-cut shredded paper in the nesting boxes - it doesn't seem dusty and it gives me pleasure to think of some of the documents in particular being put to use in this way :D .

Likewise, it cheers me up when the chickens poo on particular pictures (mainly politicians) in the newspapers which I use on the floor of their house

I echo what Cluckbok says, it is chook specific.

I tried shredded paper only one of my 4 chooks ate it. The other 3 ignored it. Unfortunately I had to stop using it as the one that was eating it, wasn't just nibbling, she was eating loads. So I stick to Auboise horse bedding now (which does have better aborbancy for when they poo in the nestbox).

But you are best to try shredded paper and see how you get on.

Hi Hen Watch. Thanks for the information. I will give it a try and keep an eye on the birds to make sure "Ooops, word censored!"ody tries to convert to the 'shredded paper diet' I'll check out that Auboise horse bedding as well.

Thanks again, Nige
