bexbex
As the tital says.. My father-in-law has found a chicken ... If I knew it would get on with my 3 would take the risk and try to introduce it to mine but I know nothing about the chicken (he just rang me up) I'm also on nights all weekend so couldn't be there to watch over it so really not a good idea.. Any one got any thoughts on the matter... Becki x Edited August 14, 2009 by Guest
JS1
Don't suppose your father-in-law lives anywhere near Lynne (see other post)? viewtopic.php?f=5&t=50292 That could solve everyone's problems. Otherwise, I'm afraid I have nothing useful to add, but I'm sure someone who knows will be along soon!

bexbex
notmally I'd have taken it and tried to put it with mine. I'm on nights all this weekend so can't be there to watch over it and only have the one wooden coop. We're on holiday next week too and my dad is looking after them so can't risk it. legend21
Bex, her profile does not say where she lives, can only hope she logs onto the forum and reads this. I would love a chicken of fate but I am too far away, perhaps your FiL should call the local vet just to say he found it, incase anyone phones the vet to ask if it has been handed in Jackie
bexbex
I'm going to nip through to his house now with a car carrier and some pellets for it as it's probably hungry and I'll try and get some pictures of it too. Becki x
teri
wouldn't it be wonderful if this chicken of fate was lynnes? it would be like something off a disney film i really hope the poor chuck does find it's home well done to your FiL for looking after it. doktorrob
I'm bexbex's other half (hello!) and I've just spoken to her, as she's gone to my parents' house to take some food and a cage for the chicken. She says it's over a year old (it's already had a moult?), and is very tame, so she's sure it's somebody's pet. It's also in very good condition. bexbex
I'm back. Couldn't get any pictures as forgot my camera but I can tell you what is is as I have 3 of the same! lol It looks like a red warren (hybrid). It's in great contition and is very tame. Father-in-law has made a little hut for it to go on garden for now and I took a cat carrier down so they can bring it in at night. It ate a tonne of pellets and has gone to sleep... by the sounds of it has been out all night. It's croup was empty so I think she's happy to be off the road and eat something. I think they're quite keen to keep her if they can't rehome and maybe get a friend for her. Depends if anyone comes forward for her . Will keep you updated.
