Jenny Smedley
Hi , As you can probabely tell from all the posts, I'm running around like a headless chicken!!! (Sorry!) I have a bad red mite infestation in my cube ( depite Xeno200 & Poultry shield!) and had a sudden thought: I usually compost my chicken's nest box bedding & poo tray contents ( I use easibed & shredded paper) - is that a good idea as I have a red mite problem at the moment ?? Will the heat in the plastic compost bin be enough to kill the red mites or am I just going to spread the problem around my garden & veg patch ? My chickens free range all round the garden. All thoughts welcome!
Redwing
I wouldnt risk it myself, I am putting the bedding in the council green waste bin - do you have something similar?
bronze
we're not allowed ours in our brown garden waste bin. Mines going in the black bin this time
