curlu Posted August 18, 2009 Share Posted August 18, 2009 One of my hens managed to get into the cat food via the catflap and polished off a bowl of reindeer flavoured cat food!! My question is whether the eggs would be edible or should I give them a miss for a few days, I know pet food is sometimes made with less consideration to hygiene than human food! beach chick Posted August 21, 2009 Share Posted August 21, 2009 wot witch hazel says - pet food, especially dried, is made to ultimate standards, and the meat/poultry/fish/veg proten used is fit for human consumption.. I work for James Wellbeloved and Royal Canin - so declaring an interest here - but having seen the production of both, I can confirm that food safety is paramount.
