eggstravagant
I am rearing my first clutch of white silkie chicks. I understand that they can't be sexed until quite late, but I was wondering if I have inadvertantly found an indicator to sex... I had to bath the chicks today as they had got very muddy during a bad rain storm - I noticed that some of them have fleshy lumps on the top of their heads and quite ordinary looking beaks while others have completely flat heads and wide beaks. Are you able to shed any light on this for me? Many thanks for any assistance you can offer!
Griffin
I sexed one of mine as a boy at four weeks because he was already growing spikey bits on his comb. The girls wouldn't have that. Girls do get their bouffant quicker than boys too.
