Ness3103
my girls are pulling each others feathers out and eating them they started on scarlet this morning and she now has a completely bare bum and looks very scraggly, they've now started on ebony, skye is taking clumps of feathers and eating them, they also had tia's wings earlier and were tugging at them i really don't know why they've started doing this i've ordered some ukadex but don't know when it will arrive, i put vaseline on scarlet earlier and that seemed to work for a while but now i just wish they'd go to bed so i can relax i'm really worried that they're going to really hurt each other
Falkor
Sorry to hear you are having a bad time of it. Do you have one main pecker? Perhaps segregate her away from the others by seperating the run? You could try bumper bits? Water and vinegar spay? Tea tree oil and water spay? Both taste nasty. My little cream leg bar was being used as a walking buffet and I just kept spraying her bald bits with purple spay and all of her with the new Net-tex anti peck spay. Continued this every other day for about two weeks and seems to have solved the problem. Although I still give her a squirt with the anti-peck stuff once a week during our health check snuggle Also....do they have hentertainment? My lot have hanging cabbages....guinea pig treat ball filled with pellets....perches and a dust bath....for ideas. Also! I have a feeding station per chook at the moment as introductions still going on.....well they have been living in the cube altogether for a good few weeks now but we still have food dominance issues, maybe this would help? Ness3103
there doesn't seem to be one main one they're all going for it at the moment. they have perches, dust bath (which they ignore ) and they usually have treat balls hanging up but they aren't having treats at the moment because i started their course of flubenvet yesterday. i can't figure out what's changed to make them act this way i'll try the water and vinegar spray tomorrow, i haven't got bumper bits so i'd better order some in case the ukadex doesn't work. thank you for your advice
