Egluntyne
Just a few moments ago Martha Kearney was talking about her bees......and she gave the Beehaus a mention.
Lesley
erm......I was sort of listening.....but also replying to your thread on wasps......I didn't hear the Beehaus mention
pdcambs
Here is a link to some Omlet video.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8184655.stm .... check out the frames coming out of the Beehaus Super. Seven frames to a super, not Hoffmans, no frame spacers and no castellations in the super.... how odd! It's also a shame they give the impression pesticides are only an issue in the countryside, which is not the case. Guest
What! 7 frames in a five-frame super. Super. Good job they wouldn't want to go up a storey for the next super!! They might just squeeze by if they are all shoved up tight together (there are bees on top of the frame bars - I will check to see on my Dartington supers). I do hope that bit was not transmitted on the 'box' (I wouldn't have seen it as we 'skipped' our tv about 5 years ago). Nearly all rubbish on it. That just reinforces my point. Would need plenty of supers in a good year as they won't be able to store much on each one (while leaving a bee space between).
