WitchHazel
Hi Our chicks are now 17/18 days old. For the the last 5 or 6 days, they have been outside for increasing periods of time in the Eglu and its run. For the last two days (it's been very warm and dry) they were outside from about 8.30am until 5.30pm. We've noticed that they seem to be trying to dustbathe on the grass, and I was wondering if I should put something in the run for them to bathe in. Their wing feathers are fully developed, their shoulder feathers are well developed, their tail feathers are starting, but they still have a lot of fluff. Have you done this? If so, what should i put in (the Big Girls have playsand, compost, and wood ash). Thanks
Chook n Boo Mum
As mine are in with Buffie, I have a cat littler tray with compst and playsand & a liberal dose of Diatom in the run. The babies learned very quickly how to dustbath...I'll try & find one (or two!!!) of the videos....... Hope it works, it's not playing properly on PB !!
