Eggquisite
Hello fellow Omleteers We have recently purchased 3 Orps (large fowl) & 1 Maran to add to our flock of 3 Pekin Frizzles & 2 Light Sussex. During the day the two flocks are separated & at night we pop the newbies into the nesting box in the big girls to go to sleep - we then remove them each morning & pop them into their run. All working out so far with no issues. I was thinking we should buy a for our newbies but realise the Orps won't fit in over time once they start getting bigger so that's not going to work. I'm now wondering if we should still buy a for our Pekins with them being much smaller. Would it be cruel to separate the pekins from their Sussex friends at night as they have been together from the start? During the day they would all be together (not with the new flock just yet). Hope this makes sense Any feedback would be welcome. Have a good Bank Holiday weekend everyone
tom123
I guess that would be OK? Can't see why not. Just wondered, did you get an orp cockerel??? Tom
Eggquisite
Hi Tom, Yes we do have an Orp Cockerel which we didn't plan very well really as we have our handsome boy Rhubster too! (Light Sussex). So that may be problematic at some point unless we keep them totally separate!? Why do you ask? Liz
