hazard Posted September 1, 2009 Share Posted September 1, 2009 i am new to chicken keeping and have had my chicks for 7 days now yesterday was the grand let out day so they decided that they would sleep all day. today they are like chickens posessed i have chased them all day they keep flying over the run wire (5ft high) so my question is how old do they have to be before i can clip their wings. i just hope they are better behaved tomorrow Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
CluckyBucks Posted September 1, 2009 Share Posted September 1, 2009 Hello You have to wait until the chicken actually has grown its mature feathers, only clip one wing because this causes it to be unbalanced during flight.
