On another note I hate it how my friends who have jobs moan...they have money and valuable experience under their belts. I don't. Now is the time to be bombarding the local and not so local shops with your CV and also going in and asking in person. fowlbird Posted October 1, 2009 Share Posted October 1, 2009 a couple of weeks ago - we're talking mid-sept I went to a local garden centre to buy a house-plant for a friend. Bear in mind that just walking from my front door to my car (a matter of 15ft or so) leaves me in agony... got to the car-park, nearest vacant disabled space was a couple of hundred feet from the entrance... went in, quickly found plant and pretty pot and turned to go through the double doors to the tills only to find my way blocked by black curtains and a sign saying that 'they' were sure I didn't mind but the area was closed in order to prepare for SANTA! yes, I did mind - I had to walk further to another door before I could head for the tills... and you know what? tooties Posted October 2, 2009 Share Posted October 2, 2009 I've got the answer to your 'Christmas shopping' problems..... just do it online!! I started doing this a few yrs ago and am gradually building up to buying most of it online.... food shopping, presents etc.... Its so much easier than going into town and parking, carrying it all etc. Obviously there are still a few bits that I have to go into town or the local supermarket for, but I promise you this is a much less painful way of shopping..... just try and shop where there is free delivery, or think to yourself, that delivery charge would have been spent on the car park!
