Ziggy
My four bunnies are at the vet at the moment, getting neutered... They're all female, now aged 6 months, and we have managed to keep them all together so far without trouble, but only in their permanent run and hutch (placed anywhere else, their territorial instinct would flare up and they would try to pick fights)... We are having a big WIR built for the chickens soon, then will hopefully do the same for the bunnies... Waiting for a call from the vet to see how it all went... It's nerve-wracking having not just one but four pets undergoing surgery today...

Ziggy
Thanks Jen. Just got a call from the vet saying it all went well, the bunnies are still sleepy but recovering fine. Picking them up at 6pm

Ziggy
They are home, so far safe and sound... The nurse advised to keep them inside for 48hrs... I thought I couldn't really do this, as I don't have anything to keep them in, but then thought that making sure all four are eating, and managing to pick them up to check their wounds, would definitely much easier if they are in, than if I have to play yoga tricks in their outside hutch and run to catch them (it's one of them damn hutch that looks great and is big enough to let a child in comfortably, but for a grown up it's too small to manoeuvre, but too big to be able to reach the bunnies without having to chase them)... So I suddenly thought of taking their spare outdoor run in... it's one of those low but large metal ones... and there they are, the four of them, looking a bit surprised, on towels and cardboard in a corner of the tv room... they look very cute... bigmommasally
That was a good idea Are they all eating and pooing yet?
Ain't Nobody Here
Aww, bless 'em, little bunnies . Hope they're all recovered soon . Erm, where are the photos .
Ziggy
I think they are eating... there are definitely enough poos around to account for four bunnies, but it's not easy being sure who does what... Every so often I look at them, trying to make sure I see them all eat... the only one I haven't caught eating yet has been drinking... would that count as the same?? They are all behaving fine and normal, if a little bewildered at their new temporaray quarters... Photos will follow
Ziggy
Well the bunnies are still doing fine, they will move back into their home in the garden in a couple of hours. It's fun having them inside, but I'll be happy to have the tv room looking more civilised again. Here are some pictures of them, post-operation . This is the set up, in the corner of the tv room, after they'd mess up my careful arranging of their boxes, towels and food : Peppa, Twinkle and Socks : Socks trying to give me a fright (if I hadn't seen her hop around the run a minute before, I'd have walked in and thought she was unwell) : and Socks again Frisky coming to ask Twinkle how she's feeling : and finally all of them chilling out together: All are eating and behaving fine, so that's the end of the worries I hope.
