How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

Hello All,

 

One of my girls seems to have diarrhoea she has had it for at least 4 days now. Should I be worried or is this pretty normal. I have only had her a week and other than that she seems really happy and is eating and drinking well.

 

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I believe their tummy's can take a while to settle down after first getting them - mine certainly did.

 

I would say keep an eye over the next few days and see if it persists or they show other signs of illness.

Mine had a bout of being a bit squitty for a couple of weeks. They were up to date with Flubenvet so I gave them 5 days of Protexin Probiotics which has dried them up a treat. I wonder if they were set off by an overdose of mealworms given to them by my chicken sitter (huge tub in 1 week)

Thank you for the advice,i will keep a close eye on her for the next week or so and see how she goes

I would add some Bokashi Bran to her food and keep her off extras for a while. That should settle things down.

If she doesn't settle down in a couple of days with no treats. You may want to send a sample to get tested. Retfords Poultry is very good, efficient, and cost effective.
