flexible cat flaps

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried a flexible cat flap instead of the normal standard plastic one? Our cat has broken the actual flap part twice in the last month so I was wondering about trying a flexible flap but thought I'd ask here first.

I originally thought it was Evil (the cat from down the road) and Clio fighting over the flap, but having now observed what's going on, it's definitely Clio doing the damage  She always enters and exits the house at full speed, irrespective of whether she's being chased or not - and the normal plastic flaps just can't take the strain! Not quite sure why she's started behaving like a lunatic - she is 12 - but to be honest it looks like it's a game - she has a good 100ft run up before she hits the flap, and then she just carries on across the living room, slides across the kitchen floor on her side, ricochets off the washing machine, does a 90 degree turn, and hurtles up the stairs - if it wasn't so noisy and so expensive  it would be funny :)

:lol: I'm sorry... but that is funny!!! I can just picture her!:lol:

I've never tried a flexible cat flap but am tempted to give one a whirl... our little darlings destroy cat flaps at an alarming rate too! :)

Yes, it's made me laugh too ... sorry, can't advise on a flexible flap though. I didn't know they made them, but I assume it's a bit like those doors you get on industrial fridges and the like? Sounds as if it might be the answer to Clio's full-on approach.
