Does anyone have an opinion about using garden shreddings as a floor material for the run? Does it have to be bark chippings from the garden center?

Bet they will love them. The bark can get a bit slimy when wet so I think most choose woodchip in preference. I prefer soft to hard but most choose hard because it can be washed and last. Having said that I use hemcore horse bedding.

 

You have opened a can of worms asking about run materials, everyone has their favourite.

I recently chipped a pile of branches and leaves and put it all in the run, it's fab for them to scratch about in - and has saved me money.
