Guest
Yep you can get them from the LIBRARY!!! You download them and the DRM (digital rights management) on them means they are time limited to 21 days from our library service. Right now I've "borrowed" Mums Sony Reader and I'm off on the new Dan Brown! I wanted to read it on my phone but there is a bit of a gap at the moment in apps - the recomended one would have worked on my OLD phone but doesn't work properly on my new one. Grrrrrr. I'm dead impressed though - of course it doesnt require any input from a librarian so my blood pressure need not rise!
Chucky Mama
I've just downloaded all the classics free- don't know if I'll ever get around to reading them but it makes me feel sophisticated
Guest
LOL we got the classics on a CD - bestsellers for us now. Ooooh and you can pre-order the Amazon Kindle now from Amazon US but suitable for UK. Only thing is you are gonna hit customs charges. Unless your mother happens to have a transatlantic crossing and a few days in NYC next month Plan is - I keep her Sony Reader for a few days and tell her how much I'm enjoying it, can we share etc etc. THEN suggest she could bring a Kindle back as an xmas pressie - kind of xmas pressie that will be handy as we will be on holiday AND have to fly to Barcelona so will have luggage restrictions which WILL NOT mean less shoes and handbags!!!! Chucky Mama
Hmm yes, I couldn't wait for the Kindle, I am too impatient. I hope I don't regret not waiting.
..lay a little egg for me
Which library do you get them from penguinmad? Is it your local or is it the British Library? Have you a link for us? I have borrowed some from "the burgomeister" but did not realize I could borrow from a proper library!
Guest
Just the local library service - check online with yours, a librarian at schools said they were all doing this.
