4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Saturday cleaning eglu day. Thorough clean of home, new straw in nest box box - all very tidy.

Thought we would replace the bark chippings in the run, they were looking a bit tired.

Put new chippings in.... girls did not like them.

Sort of got used to it, but they just didn't care for them. Saw them looking longingly at their old bark in the wheelbarrow.

Have I just got "special" chickens that don't like change, have other people found this??

mine are the same normally lasts 24hrs then they start digging within 2 days the chipping look like I've not changed them for months

I apologise in advance, I don't want to Hi-jack the thread, but how often should you change the bark chippings? and should you throw the old stuff out and buy in new stuff, or just rotate outside stuff for inside stuff etc?

I change mine about every 3 months in the summer but I only need 1-1 1/2 25kg bales

the 1/2 bale is the top up at about 6 weeks
