cluckingmad
Well, my lovely ladies are moutling for England currently - either that or someone is sneaking into my garden at night and having one heck of a pillow fight.. As a result egg production from the hybrid girls is slowing down significantly - Etty, Flo and suzie haven't laid since we got them, but given their breeds and the fact they're moulting I'm not in the least bit worried. However, while cleaning out the cube last weekend we found the teensiest little egg I've ever seen - it was the size of a blackbirds egg but most definately from a chicken (one of the hybrid girls) - has anyone else ever seen this? We do get a fair few softies, suspect from maggie as she quite often goes off colour then perks up a day of so later, but never seen such a little egg before - its too small to even register on our scales (although they're theold sort, not digital) Zocal is on the way for the softies... chelsea
Funnily enough we found an egg the size of a Cadburys mini egg in the cube approx 1 month ago......it did make us chuckle and we have not had anything like it since! We think it came from one of our "older" ladies who only lays very occasionally now.
Ain't Nobody Here
You've obviously never seen the Omlet Small Egg Leader Board . There are some tiddlers on there (usually known as fart or wind eggs ).
