Bruise on leg

Recommended Posts

I am feeling rotten at the moment. Peri has been broody, so I put her in the broody cage for 3 days and 3 nights. It is an upturned indoor rabbit cage, so has the bars on the bottom and sides as recommended, it was on bricks for the air flow.

I am pleased to say that she came out yesterday and is no longer broody, although I have noticed today that she has a bruise on one of her legs, which must be down to the cage :(

She's walking on it fine, and jumping up onto the tables so it doesn't seem to be bothering her, but should I do anything (arnica gel or something?)

She does have trust issues with me since being in the cage, is reluctant to let me pick her up, although she was very prepared to take grapes from me

If it is because of the cage I am going to be reluctant to put future broody girls in it.

Advice appreciated.

My light sussex recently had bruising on all her toes on one foot, no idea why, probably my huge clumsy brahma stepping on them. After a massive struggle, i did manage to put some arnica cream on them and could already see a reduction in the bruising the next day, so i highly recommend using it. :D
