my new pink eglu has a draughty gap. is this normal?

Recommended Posts

im new to this and wanted to know if the (pink eglu) lid is supposed to be loose and wobble and have a gap where it meets the base unit? :(

also what height should the grub be hung at to reduce spillage as GNRPP seem to spill lots of their food at the moment! :?

thanks :D

My Eglu tops are quite loose - where is the gap you mention? mine have gaps around the front arch (thats normal) but not where the top meets the sides and back (there is a gap within the base section where the poo tray slots in though which is normal)

Hang the grub so that the feed level is roughly at the height of the hen's backs

thankyou for your advice. this forum is great! :D

My lid has a gap at both the sides where it meets the base unit :( . it also has the gap at the poop tray, but the gaps at the sides are big enough to fit your fingers through! im glad the weather isnt toooo chilly yet. its almost like the lid and base unit are a different shape on the arch bit at the sides?

I have hung the grub at the height of their backs and put a litter tray under too Thankyou sooooo much for your help :D . i have 3 cats, a dog, 3 kids & hubby, but only got the GNRPP last week so am still learning!

arnt they fantastic though :!: cant wait till the first !eggcream!

hi, no its not on a slope at all. its totally flat. the (pink eglu) is new from omlet! i have sent them some pics & they sent me a new lid 2day but thats the same 2!? they are very helpfull and are sending me a new base unit on wed so hopefully that will sort it out. not a great start!!!

my GNR called pumpkin layed an egg at lunchtime today! we were all very excited! i thought it would be a few more weeks yet!

the food spilling prob is sorted now. i must have had the grub too high! i am leaving the litter tray there for a while just incase, although when GNRPP were free ranging one of my cats decided to scratch in the tray!

thanks for all your good advice :D

any other tips gratefully appretiated
