What to do with little bald obi?

Recommended Posts

Obi Hen Ke"Ooops, word censored!"i my lovely gingernut ranger is doing extreme moulting. She has multiple bald patches with new feather spikes coming through. She's not doing her usual boss chicken act and keeps herself away from her friends during the day. I'm giving extra protein and lifeguard in her water too.

I noticed this morning that there was blood coming from the top of some new feather spikes on her back. I've purple sprayed her and she's free ranging out with the other girls - no pecking in evidence at present.

Should I put her in separate accomodation overnight, as that's when I think the pecking must be happening. I could put her in a cat box full of straw into our downstairs loo overnight then back in with the others during the day.

Or should I get bumper bits for the others (which seems a bit extreme as they're not pecking during the day)?

Will the separation at night cause problems during the day?

TIA

- She is in in the box overnight, but I'd still appreciate some hints. :)
