can anyone recommend a reasonably priced incubator for rearing our own quail eggs and which breed are better for the table?

Japs are the best for meat (and eggs too) as they're bigger than CPQ.

The incubator is what suits you and cost really, do you want automatic/manual? How many were you thinking of getting? How much did you want to spend?

 

I built my own when I hatched mine (there are 100's of photos and a load about it on my blog) and it cost about £50.

R-com are good as they have a quail tray, there are also the Brinsea Mini Eco for £55 and the automatic version, Brinsea Mini Advance for £90

I'll be at home most of the time so a manual one probably, did you see the link I put on the facebook thread? That one is £30 and Jade rates it so I think we might go for thart one unless you can think of any reason not to?

I've not had a polystyrene one but Raina and moochoo have one and I think Tasha used to have one aswell, so they might be the people to ask

bought a novital brooder and incubator from Ascott via ebay so all sorted now. thanks lewis x
