Squawk
My Black Star has been laying small wind eggs (no yolk) for the past couple of weeks. She is about 8 months old and she used to lay a medium/large egg nearly every day. My other chickens are fine so I dont think its related to their food - does anyone have any ideas/advice? Ain't Nobody Here
I get wind eggs from Maisie fairly often. I've no idea why. She doesn't even lay proper eggs inbetween though . She's about 2 1/2 and used to be a great layer.
Egluntyne
Is she a bit overweight? I seem to remember that fat hens are more prone to laying these.
Squawk
She is bigger and heavier than my other chickens but I thought that was due to her breed. Do you know what the ideal weight is for a chicken?
Egluntyne
Somewhere around the 7lb mark for this type of hen. Ish.
Fur 'n' Feathers
Wow!!! Eggs without yolks. This could be a way I could finally be able to eat them... (or should I risk it )
