Green eggs and ham!

Recommended Posts

It was lovely, thanks. Although my poor girl hasn't got into the swing of egg laying yet, bless her. She laid a shell less egg in the snow and then an egg with a thin shell, which fell through the roost bars. She doesn't seem to know what to do. I am keeping an eye on her as I am concerned she may get egg bound - any advice? :?:

When my chickens first started laying, We had several softies, over a couple of weeks, but luckily no significant problems. They seemed to get the hang of it after a while and we haven't had a softie in ages. So I wouldn't worry unless the chickens start looking out of sorts.

edit: can't wait for my newbie cream legbar to start laying :-)

She has got into the swing now, we have had five !egggreen!!egggreen!!egggreen!!egggreen!!egggreen! more lovely green eggs, today's egg is an enormous egg! It looks more like a ducks egg, I think it will be a double yolker! The chicken - Tikka, is fine I did a quick MOT with her when I put Vaseline on her comb today, she seems to have sorted everything out - as new layers do :D

Happy New Year all
