Ben1994
I have had my chickens now since March normally we get 3 eggs out of 4. But now for the last couple of weeks it is normally 2 eggs. Also we have never had 4 eggs. They are all warrens, they look healthy and chirpy. What is my problem? Why are they not laying? Thanks for your help Ben
emchook
That is about right I think. I believe that they dont lay so often in the winter .. although I have to say that my 3 Warrens laid 3 eggs from March to June and then slowed down for Summer.....and now have started laying 2 -3 again... Olly
There's almost certainly nothing wrong with your hens, Ben - their laying cycle is affected by daylight, and with the days being so short they may not lay at all, or may only lay occasionally. My hens haven't laid till the end of November, but they are also in a full moult as well (the two that still lay, that is - one is just retired). If you haven't wormed them regularly, then you could try that, but it's most likely that they will just come back into lay around the end of Jan/early February.
