Janty
My Dad is having a flash of nostalgia and we need some help. Apparently he went to a hospital in the Lakes when he was a child (late 40's) with his brother who was getting over some health problem...possibly diptheria? He remembers it being called Bankfield House and it being part of Liverpool's 'penny in the pound' scheme but can't remember where it is. He thinks it is a Georgian building and remembers a driveway leading up to the house. I have trawled the internet but can't find any more info apart from records that back up the name. We think that it was in Great Urswick, Ulverston. Can anybody shed any light on this for Dad? He would love to see a photo again if anybody can find anything. Thanks for looking. Sheilaz
Well, as you probably found, it's listed as a hotel with a phone number, so it would be worth a call. Be interesting to see if any Omleteers know anything. Good luck!
