Kill it, cook it, eat it -BBC3

Recommended Posts

So far i've only see the cattle one too as none of my family are interested so am watching them on iplayer when i get time. I found it really interesting and has made me think more about supermarket meat. We tend to get a lot of our meat from a farm shop so its local and on a smaller scale, however we buy organic mince from the supermarkets as the farm shop doesn't seem to sell it. Its got me thinking about how those animals are slaughtered as well as reared. Definately interesting stuff.

We've watched all 3 so far. It is very interesting and certainly makes you think about where you buy your meat from and if you need to eat it. I found the pig one last night quite upsetting, as I'm not convinced the pigs were stunned enough before they were hung up. The killing shown is on a small scale only 2 pigs in together it must be far worse in a larger abbatoir :(

Just watching the Chicken episode - they're big chickens!

The whole programme is really interesting and goog to hear about other peoples points of view - I think I agree a lot with Phoebe, the 'country girl', and that if you want to eat meat, you should be prepared to kill it and see it being done.

I think James, the vegan man, has a really closed mind, and that you should leave an animal in pain to die naturally.

I love animals but know that they have to be killed at some point otherwise they wouldn't exist in the first place - each to their own :?
