Surely you WOULD NOT want your chooks eating cooked meat of any type !

I have seen my chickens go for a dead frog but I would rather it was raw than cooked any day

I thought it was illegal to feed chooks meat, especially chicken, due to Defra rules? Or did I imagine it?

Poor Raina..I bet you wish that you had never started this!

I think it is all about 'natural' eating behaviour and that in the wild, chickens would indeed eat worms, even frogs and mice. But never cows, pigs or sheep and even cannibalistic behaviour would be considered abnormal.

Chickens are omnivores which means that they eat both plants and animals. They feed on small insects and herbs and leaves, but they are also known to catch small animals such as mice and frogs.

Feeding cooked meat or fish of any type is not a natural food source.
