Swap one cockerel for two hens!!

Recommended Posts

Now that Bertie has gone to live in his new abode over the road I have managed to persuade OH that we need two new hens!! Well, as I explained to him, you cant introduce one to six so it would have to be two. I am taking the rabbit run inside the WIR idea to increase playing area which means that I will have room for two more. :dance::dance: So in just two weeks time I have arriving a gold laced Wyandotte (Willow) and a Rhode Island Red (Rusty). Being pure breeds they wont lay as many eggs but hopefully may lay for longer.

Just need some help now working out whether they need roosting bars for sleeping or just the cat basket for laying? What should i put inside the rabbit run for them?? Will they sleep in the cat box anyway?

:dance::dance::clap:

When I have introduced girls I have had a cat carrier which OH made roosting bars for which was their "bedroom". For my pure breed girls, they haven't been laying until after integration, so I didn't have anything for laying. However for my ex batts I had a cat tent with a cat litter tray inside with hemcore in for laying :D
