Just a thought!

Recommended Posts

I've just had a look at the South Glos website and it looks that I'll be OK as long as my deeds don't prohibit it (we're freehold, so OK John says), and also we own it, don't rent. You have to register with DEFRA if you've got 50 or more, but we're not quite there yet !

Many thanks.

You should be fine as long as your deeds dont have some weird clause. We are freehold but our land has a convenant saying we cant have a shed for example and some have restrictions on 'livestock'

other than that as long as you dont cause a noise or smell nuisance you will be fine

Dont involve the EH office if you dont have to it just adds confusion

DO involve your neighbours in your decision now and offer reassurances as to noise (no cockerels) its best to get them on side now!

Our deeds are very wishy washy and say something along the lines that we are only allowed to keep 'normal domestic pets'.

I would love to know what the definition of a normal domestic pet would be if I were ever to be taken to court :?

Thankfully, our neighbours seem to be quite amused by the sight of my girls heads appearing under their fence and nibbling the edge of their lawn!
