Gem_Seb
I have one silkie, 2 sussex and 2 pekins. all bantams,..... one of my sussex has been broody twice now! only had them 9 months! she stopped laying over the winter, has started laying again now and after 10 eggs is broody again! she was broody just before she stopped laying for the winter! Now my silkie... ive been told they go broody all the time and do not lay very well. I have had an egg a day from her since she started laying and one every day all through the winter, apart from that really cold week we had! Have they swapped roles!! My pekins havent laid yet but im told they are a bit tempremental with laying as well...is this right? They have a big coop and a big 3mx3 WIR and get lots of greens and treats what more could they want?!!!
Redwing
My Silkies are all laying like mad too, once the hormones hit as the weather warms up who knows what will happen My Pekins have only been laying for the last couple of weeks and only two out of four are laying more than a few a week, again once the warmer weather is here they should lay better
Jools
Whoops, you've chosen three of the broodiest bantams! I can always rely on my Sussex when I need them to sit. And my OEG. I also have Rhode Island Red, New Hampshire Red and Marans bantams and they're not really into motherhood.
