wombatally
Has anyone tried their hand at cheesemaking? I bought a cheapish fruit press off ebay and have made some really nice cheese - very simple, creamy and edible within a day or two. I'm now moving on to more adventurous ideas but it's very daunting!! Anyone else found good easyish recipes?
Looney
Oooh how exciting! What was the cheese like texture-wise? Did it taste similar to any shop-bought cheeses? I love cheese but have never made it.
Charlottechicken
I love cheese but have never made it. Me too! What press did you buy? I've seen a few on ebay which look interesting, especially the white cylinder one with holes in (the cheapest one ). I'd like a multi functional one for pressing grapes too. Ooh, home made wine and cheese
Saronne
February's Home Farmer Magazine had a section on home cheesemaking. Saronne x
Lesley
I've only made simple cheeses - www.ascott.biz do all the rennets and cultures for other types of cheese.
