Forge Cottage
We get that now and again. Sometimes lasts a couple of days. I don't think there is anything to worry about... Hey - Now you can use the speckly icon!!

Redwing
I'd go with red mites personally Double check the coop by going out after dark and looking with a torch

Lavenders_Blue
Ooh, I'm glad this isn't just me this is happening to. Dorothy has been laying the occasional blood speckled egg, the others have been laying clean eggs. I have wiped every nook and cranny of the coop umpteen times to check for evidence of red mite, but the paper/finger/whatever is to hand always comes away clean. I have now drawn a blank. Maybe it's just one of those things?? (I will have a good blast round with the poultry shield this weekend to be sure though)
