Magso12 Posted February 25, 2010 Share Posted February 25, 2010 Am new to chicken keeping - have had my two for just under two weeks and today I got a lovely surprise when I checked the nest box. My first egg!! I have no idea which of them laid it, but I am grinning like a cheshire cat! I'm going to spy on them tomorrow to see if I can work out which of them laid it. I think it might have been Matilda (the quiet one) as she started bocking when I opened the egg hatch, but it's only a guess. Will keep you posted! Mine seem to stop laying completely during winter so its just like the first time again when the days get longer and they lay their first eggs of the new season.
