taming them down

Recommended Posts

ok... i got my 5 girls.. 3 ex batts, took a lot of work but they are not so nervy and will crouch and let me pick them up no problems... well except when they busy busy busy!!! the 2 other warrens are very very very tame, were hand reared from egg-chicks-girls!

i have 3 new girls only 1 of which has come into lay at the mo about 20 weeks old the other 2 are, they are very quiet, Winnie the white one is slowly becoming more and more confident and will come up to me when she is in her run, maude is the laying one, she is about 26 weeks old now. very calm and very good speckled lady, Sky however is very nervous and wont come any where near me! :( The 3 of these girls are soooo quiet, i think im yet to hear them actually make a noise!!

I also have another set up with my 2 blue eggers, they are very skitzo! wont let me near them either, about 6 months old now, i have started to try and hand feed, bribe with raisins, grapes, sweetcorn etc but still not having any of it!!!! in the chicken world, these (Velma and Roxie) are very cocky and little madams!!! defo gona be top birds when finally intergrated!!! The are wattle and comb grabbers aswell so trying to 'nip' that as best as i can, with anti peck-sprays.

How can i 'tame' the new 5 down? the 3 babies so be little more confident and not have the eggs kicked out of them by the other madams and the 2 blue eggers to calm down a bit, trust me and not bully the rest??/ I can see Sky and Winnie being the poor vitims here... and no one pics on my winnie!!! :notalk::notalk:
