Chook n Boo Mum
Hazel my batty is, I think, waiting to join Buffie & Tulip in the eternal freeranging patch ..... up until yesterday she had been slowing down but still eating a little crushed corn or mealworms when offered, but today she hasn't shown any interest at all, she's indoors in the warm with everything her little heart could desire should she want it, but she doesn't. She's very pale & when she's resting seems to twitch or shake her head.......I'm not sure if this is a sign of something sinister, or just normal for a little one towards the end. Because she had been eating I haven't contacted the vet, but will in the morning if she's still with us. This morning I gave her a dose of Nutri-drops and a half grape or two & she perked up enough to ask to go out with her sisters for a short while, I brought her back in when I went to work though as it's been soooooo cold & she was in bed by the time I got home at 5.30, she doesn't seem to have eaten or drunk anything all day & gets very distressed whenever I try to syringe anything into her. DH checked on her during the afternoon, though I'm not sure he'd have known if she'd got worse or not as he's poorly too ! To be honest I hope she slips away in the night, as I know she will not appreciate the intervention that I did with Buffie..........Hazel has been free & much loved for just under 14 months so is probably rising 3 so a very fairly reasonable age for an ex-working girl Thought as always will be appreciated.......... Chook n Boo Mum
She's still with us & seems intent on trying to remove her leg ring I can't see any good reason for this, so I'll try giving her a bath & rubbing some vaseline in to see if that soothes whatever her perceived problem is........her knicks are a bit mucky from where she slept right up against the back wall of the cat basket, so a bath seems a reasonable idea anyway. Still doesn't want to eat or drink either Sha x
Daphne
Sha - thinking of you. These things do sometimes come in waves. I can't offer any advice as I've not had any batties, and the only time we've had twitching it was connected to an ear infection? I hope she has a peaceful day.
