My lovely frizzle pekin, Jamie, seems absolutely fine, eating, drinking and attacking the dog if he gets too close . But her comb isn't sitting up any more and looks pale. Is it something that is going to get worse if I dont treat what ever it is she has got, I lost a girl last October and I dont want to lose another .

I'd worm her if you haven't done so recently.

I haven't seen her lay but we are getting eggs, I will start worming tomorrow just in case.

their combs go much paler when they are not in lay

She has only just come into lay in Jan and she is only a year old in May.

well the worming is a good start

 

Also check very carefully for red mite in the Eglu, go out with a torch when its dark and the hens ahve been roosting for some time and take a look
