Unsecure chicken perches

Last year my parent's two ducks and their neighbour's five bantams disappeared overnight. There was no real sign of carnage, just a few feathers. Foxes have been blamed but I wasn't sure, I had a duck stolen by a tramp when I lived in Wilts. Having read various threads where people have had poultry stolen, I think that is what happened. Have people had chickens/ducks taken by foxes without carnage, it seems a shame for foxes to take the rap for humans!

No personal experience, but reading posts on here, yes it is possible for a fox to remove several hens without much sign of anything - especially if it's at night when they are sleepy.

Very possible, it could have been either tbh but it sounds more likely to be a fox.

I had four hens foxed with no signs in the run or coop. One body was found in a neighbour's asparagus bed and one in their children's sandpit but ne'er a feather in our garden.
