I'm helping my son with his travel arrangements as he can't get to a computer. Part of his holiday will be in Bali. I looked up visa requirements and the Foreign office and Indonesian Embassy sites both say that you buy the visa when you enter the country at the airport. Has anyone been and is that correct info, I don't want to make a mess of this.

 

Also, Freespiritbutterfly, do you need one for NZ? It's quick and easy to do online if you need one. I mention this because my Mum got one when she went to Australia.

You don't need one for NZ:

British citizens and other British passport holders who produce evidence of the right to reside permanently in the UK can visit for up to six months without a visa.

Yep this is correct, I know the fee went up recently but I do not now how much. They print it out and stick it in your passport at passport control in Indonesia. Also you get charged a tax on the way out Which we knew nothing about and was caught short of cash when it was to late. Thankfully they let LSH back through security to go outside the airport building to a cash machine
