THF Nick
Several weeks back 2 out of 3 of my hens started laying (approx 24 weeks old now) and for 14 days I had an egg ever day. On Friday I received nothing and on Saturday when cleaning out their droppings tray I found a shell less egg and one with a a very soft shell. Yesterday nothing and today one small egg. They are eating a good diet, including plenty of grit and shell. thanks nick
Redwing
I wouldnt worry just yet Nick, its probably just a blip Just make sure that they are getting plenty of layers pellets (not growers pellets now that they are older) and cut out any treats till afternoon time to ensure they are getting all they need nutrition wise when they are hungry in the mornings there are things you can add to the diet to firm up shells but too much can be counterproductive and actually make things worse so stick with the sea shells and layers pellets for now If it continues thats when you start to look at additions to the diet
