sewitall
Hi everyone. My first post here and hoping for some help. I will taking delivery of an Eglu Go and 2 chooks in May which will come with the wire run (I'm getting all excited). Before they arrive I will also have a WIR run built and ready (3 x 1.5 x 2 metres). My problem is that I will going on holiday in June for 1 week and will need to take the chooks to my sister to look after. Do I keep them in the wire run supplied with the Eglu for the month before we go away so that they are used to it for when they are at my sisters therefore delay using the WIR run until we return from holiday? Concerned that if I use the WIR and then demote them to the wire run it will be too much of a shock for them or that they may squabble. Also when I take the Eglu and run to my sister should I transport the chooks in the Eglu or put them in a unused guinea pig cage for the journey (about 40 mins). Thanks for your help in advance. Egluntyne
I think I'd just use the GO till you get back, so that there is not too much upheaval for them.
BeckyBoo
Yes, I'd stick with the Go until you get back (Welcome by the way ) And it's up to you how you get them there. If you can transport the Eglu without having to tip it or anything then I'd be inclined to keep them in that. BUT. If you can't resist and put them in the WIR before you go on holiday I still shouldn't worry too much, they might squawk a bit but they'll be fine (I just know what I'm like, I'd have to put them in the run ) Have a great holiday, and pictures of chooks required when you get them - you'll love it, keeping chooks is fab BeckyBoo
