Unsecure chicken perches

This may sound like a stupid question but----what does a moulting chicken look like? Is it obvious? Do they gradually lose all their feahters or is it more subtle than that?

One of mine has some bare patches on her neck----one area looks a bit red although the skin isn't broken, and as she's the top chook I don't htink she's had her feahters pulled out by the others(or is that not necessarily true?? )

I can't speak for all chooks, but mine have varied from looking 'slightly untidy' to 'attacked by a lawn mower' when moulting!

They can have a partial moult where they just lose a few feathers around their neck or bottom, or a full on moult when they look like, well.....plucked chickens.
