eggalp
Our Chalkie hasn't laid for a couple of weeks now, before that she was laying HUGE lop-sided eggs. Yesterday she didn't look well, hunched, slow, eyes closed, bum was sort of 'half and half', like she needed to poo but nothing was coming out. She went off to bed early and this morning she has come out just the same as last night. She has had nothing to eat and just stood drinking and drinking, now her crop looks like a water-baloon! She has also done a big yucky watery yellowish poo (looks like a raw scrambled egg). I can see her shaking as she is stood there, her little legs are even shaking. Is there anything i can do? Should i bring her in, in a box to keep her warm, or is it best to leave her be in the run? Its just a thought but im wondering if her huge lop-sided eggs that she was laying before may have done some damage to her insides?? They wre abnormally big, on a daily basis - and not good either - very watery I am worried about her, she is my third chicken to get ill in a year - the other two are no longer here . Thanks for any suggestions.
Egluntyne
Yes, I would b bring her in and keep her warm. She sounds quite poorly, so I think I'd take her to the vet tomorrow. The drinking massive amounts might suggest something kidney related.
